Fire panic at girls' dormitory in Iğdır: Flames rose from the roof
A fire that broke out on the roof of a girls' dormitory in Iğdır caused panic. The flames, which started in an illegal structure and grew due to the wind, were tackled with the help of riot control vehicles (TOMA) and concrete mixer trucks. While students were evacuated, numerous teams were dispatched to the scene.
A fire broke out around 14:30 on the roof of a 5-story girls' dormitory on İrfan Street in the center of Iğdır. The fire, which was allegedly caused by sparks from an illegal structure on the roof, grew rapidly. Following warnings from staff, the students evacuated the dormitory.
Upon notification, fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. The fire, which grew due to the effect of the wind, is being tackled by 3 TOMA vehicles used by the Police Department for public order incidents, concrete pouring trucks used by local concrete companies, and fire department crews.
