ASSESSMENT FROM NACI GÖRÜR

Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a statement regarding the earthquake on his social media account. Görür provided an assessment concerning the tremor's relationship with the fault lines in the region.

Görür used the following expressions in his statement:

"A shallow and small earthquake (4.3) just occurred in Alıncık, Elazığ. A 6.8 magnitude earthquake had already occurred in this region in 2020. Today's earthquake is either a segment that did not break during that earthquake or a segment that was stressed to a certain extent in 2023."

"WE DO NOT EXPECT A MAJOR DISASTER" STATEMENT

In the remainder of his statement, Görür noted that there is no expectation of a major disaster in the region, saying, "We do not expect a major disaster here. Get well soon."
