First comment from Iran on Biden's decision to withdraw
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated regarding US President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential election to be held in November that "who becomes president in the US is not important for his country, but a fundamental change in the US's policies toward Iran could change the course of relations."
Speaking at the weekly press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kanaani evaluated his country's foreign policy agenda and regional developments.
Stating that the reimplementation of the nuclear deal is possible if the parties to the agreement return to their obligations, Kanaani said, "The party that has complied with all of its commitments in the agreement is Iran, and the other parties must also comply with these obligations."
Spokesperson Kanaani noted the following regarding US President Biden's withdrawal from the presidential election to be held in November:
"The coming and going of governments or individuals in the US is not important to us. What is decisive here is the hostile policy the US pursues against Iran. A fundamental change in these policies could change the course of relations."
Deputy Foreign Minister and former Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Ali Reza Bigdeli also gave a speech at the press conference.
