First message from Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, who is in custody!

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, one of the individuals taken into custody along with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, shared a message through his lawyer. 

According to his lawyer Melih Koçhan, Çalık stated, "There will be no process that will make you or my family hang their heads in shame. I have infinite trust in Turkish justice." 

Çalık's lawyer, Melih Koçhan, reported that Çalık is in good health and high spirits. Stating that he was able to meet with Çalık at 17:00, Koçhan said, "He expects you to remain just as strong and hopeful. He also wants his colleagues to continue municipal services with the same determination, without any disruption." 

'I HAVE NEVER DOUBTED MY ACTIONS'

According to Koçhan, Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık shared the following message: 

"My dear citizens, I know this path is thorny, please stay calm; my situation is quite good, my morale is high. I have never doubted what I have done to this day. There will be no process that will make you or my family hang their heads in shame. I have infinite trust in Turkish justice. I am fine, I love you all very much."
