First reaction from CHP to the detention of journalists: 'We condemn this lawless order'

BirGün Newspaper website Managing Editor Yaşar Gökdemir and Publication Coordinators Berkant Gültekin and Uğur Koç have been detained.

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır reacted to the detention decision.

Stating, "We condemn this lawless order," Başarır noted the following:

"Reporting on those who serve the Palace is a crime!

BirGün executives Uğur Koç, Berkant Gültekin, and Yaşar Gökdemir were detained for reporting on a pro-government journalist who visited Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek.

If you serve the Palace, you are protected; if you report on this, you are punished!

We condemn this lawless order!"
