BirGün Newspaper website Managing Editor Yaşar Gökdemir and Publication Coordinators Berkant Gültekin and Uğur Koç have been detained.

Stating, "We condemn this lawless order," Başarır noted the following:
"Reporting on those who serve the Palace is a crime!
BirGün executives Uğur Koç, Berkant Gültekin, and Yaşar Gökdemir were detained for reporting on a pro-government journalist who visited Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek.
If you serve the Palace, you are protected; if you report on this, you are punished!
We condemn this lawless order!"
