First response from AKP to Özgür Özel's 'early election' call: I am taking my words back

The AKP Central Executive Board (MYK) met under the chairmanship of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Following the MYK meeting, AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik responded to questions regarding an 'early election'.

In his speech, responding to CHP Chairman Özel's "early election" call from yesterday, Çelik said, "Look at the picture the world is in. Look at the agenda the CHP is trying to create within this. There is a CHP that is disconnected from the realities of Turkey and the world. There is an equation where they have not been able to ensure their own integrity, have no political production, and where CHP executives cannot answer the corruption allegations brought up by CHP members themselves. At the end of the day, this is a constant CHP tradition."

"I AM TAKING THIS WORD BACK TOO"

Çelik stated, "They say they can change all the values of the Republic and the rules of democracy according to their political needs. If there were an election, this CHP administration would face a heavy defeat. I say to them that their eraser runs out before their pencil. I am taking this word back too; they don't even have a pencil, they only use an eraser. He sits in front of a journalist. What we are saying is extremely clear; we are talking about wrong policies. We are talking about poor management in a way that would be unfair to our esteemed citizens who have given their hearts to the CHP. Then a journalist says, 'Is Ömer Çelik threatening you with the judiciary?' and the chairman jumps on this. The biggest problem of the CHP is the CHP administration. How elections will be held, the rules of democracy, and the foundations of the republic are clear and obvious," he said.

ÇELİK'S STATEMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

How elections will be held, the rules of democracy, and the foundations of the republic are clear and obvious. They have exploited the fundamental values of the Republic for their political interests by creating fake regime crises.

They are doing the same thing for Atatürk. He says, 'I am sitting in Atatürk's seat.' You have not yet accounted for the disrespect you have shown to Atatürk in the seat you occupy. It is a situation where he creates windmills for himself by saying 'come face me' every now and then. All of this agenda is not actually about us, the AK Party. He brings these up to manage the problems within his own party.
