First response from AKP to TÜRK-İŞ's '29,583 TL' minimum wage proposal: 'In a short period of time'

As mid-December approaches, the raise to be applied to the minimum wage, which will affect the welfare level of millions of citizens, has become a subject of curiosity.

While no figure was announced after the first 3 meetings held by the government, employers, and the labor side, TÜRK-İŞ President Ergün Atalay announced the first figure today following the reactions.

Atalay stated, "Our proposal to the Minimum Wage Determination Commission is for the minimum wage to be raised by adding a welfare share on top of the 45% inflation rate; if a 20% welfare share is added, the minimum wage would be 29,583 TL."

FIRST STATEMENT FROM AKP

AKP Kayseri Deputy Şaban Çopuroğlu gave the following response to the question, "How do you evaluate TÜRK-İŞ's 2025 minimum wage expectation?" at a press conference he held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly:

"In our AK Party, there is no such thing as everyone speaking out of turn. Our authorized bodies will come out and make the statement.

I estimate that there is not much time left. A statement will be made in a short period of time.

We will witness the evaluations of our President and our Minister on this matter and see it all together."
