First statement from Arif Kocabıyık, caught in a truck trailer! A striking response to the question 'Where were you going to flee?'

YouTuber Arif Kocabıyık and truck driver M.A., who were reported to have been hiding under the trailer of a truck preparing to cross into Bulgaria at the Kapıkule Border Gate, have been referred to the courthouse following detention procedures.

Kocabıyık and driver M.A., brought to the courthouse by Customs Enforcement teams, were taken inside for questioning by the prosecutor's office. When asked by reporters, “Where were you going to flee?”, Kocabıyık replied, “Anamur.”

INSPECTION AT THE BORDER GATE

As part of the judicial process conducted by the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a search and inspection were carried out on a truck arriving at the Kapıkule Customs Area to exit into Bulgaria. During the inspection, two individuals hiding under the trailer were discovered.

The individuals caught were identified as Arif Kocabıyık and Iranian national S.P.S. It was learned that Kocabıyık was under a travel ban imposed by the Antalya 35th Criminal Court of First Instance as part of the crime of “insulting the President,” regulated under Article 299/1 of the Turkish Penal Code.

It is believed that Kocabıyık, who is still subject to the measure, hid under the truck trailer in order to cross into Bulgaria. Following the incident, judicial proceedings were initiated under the instruction of the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

While Kocabıyık and truck driver M.A. were taken into custody, the foreign national S.P.S. was handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
