AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a message of condolence for Raisi.
Stating that "We will stand by our neighbor Iran," Erdoğan used the following expressions;
"I pray for God's mercy upon my esteemed colleague, my brother, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Ebrahim Raisi, whom we have learned has unfortunately passed away in the helicopter crash he was involved in.
I also wish for God's mercy upon the Iranian Foreign Minister and the others who lost their lives in the same helicopter as the late Raisi.
I extend my deepest condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Ali Khamenei, and to the friendly and brotherly people and government of Iran, as well as to the families of Mr. Raisi and the other deceased.
As a colleague who personally witnessed his efforts for the peace of the Iranian people and our region during his time in office, I remember Mr. Raisi with respect and gratitude.
As Turkey, we will stand by our neighbor Iran during these difficult and sorrowful days, just as we have done many times before."
