The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation due to an article written by journalist Fatih Altaylı on November 21 titled "Those who do not fear the wreckage do not fear prison."

Altaylı noted the following in the X message he published regarding the matter:
"Dear readers, viewers, those who love us and those who do not. The issue of the investigation opened against me and İsmail Saymaz because we reported on an allegation is not a matter to be blown out of proportion. There are constantly investigations, lawsuits, and complaints against me and us. It is a normal situation that we are accustomed to. There is nothing to exaggerate."
