First statement from Hasan Atilla Uğur, father of detained Oğuzhan Uğur

Oğuzhan Uğur was detained at his home the day before yesterday as part of the investigation into the AHBAP Association, which is chaired by Haluk Levent.

The footage recorded during the detention of Oğuzhan Uğur, who is the son of Hasan Atilla Uğur, a former Gendarmerie Intelligence Colonel who interrogated PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan on İmralı Island, also became a major topic of public discussion.

STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE REGARDING THE INVESTIGATION

In a statement issued by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that a large amount of foreign currency was transferred from abroad to the bank account of Babala TV. The statement indicated that the private bank where the transactions took place had notified the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) as part of a suspicious transaction report, and that the detention decision was implemented following this process.

HASAN ATİLLA UĞUR: "OUR HEADS ARE HELD HIGH, OUR CONSCIENCES ARE CLEAR"

Oğuzhan Uğur's father, retired Colonel Hasan Atilla Uğur, also commented on the ongoing process. Expressing his trust in his son, Uğur stated the following:

"Our heads are held high, our consciences are clear. We have nothing to hide, no problematic situation. While it was being said that they would come to my son's house to detain him and search his home, these moments were recorded and then somehow leaked to the press. Unfortunately, we have become accustomed to such negative incidents. This is not a behavior directed only at us in this country. These are actions taken against many journalist friends and everyone else. Ultimately, we have done nothing wrong, so we have nothing to fear. The procedure regarding my son is ongoing. Our lawyer is already with him. We are also monitoring the developments. We expect him to join us as soon as possible."
