Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and CHP Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu made his first statement following the 64th session of the IMM trial.
After the hearing concluded, Ekrem İmamoğlu shared a written statement via the official "Presidential Campaign Office" social media account.

Giving a clear message regarding the judicial process and the course of the trial, İmamoğlu emphasized the political and legal dimensions of the case, stating, "Justice belongs to the nation. I am speaking to the nation. Let us turn our faces to the nation," and indicated that his direct interlocutor is the public.

During the hearing, Ekrem İmamoğlu took the floor and said, "I did not come for an interrogation. I came to express some of my thoughts, demands, and objections," and was subsequently removed from the courtroom following a dispute with the presiding judge.
