First statement from Manifest, released with a travel ban: 'We are very saddened'

In the statement made by the Manifest group, they said, "While we take full responsibility for the show we performed on stage, we would like it to be known that our intention was never to offend anyone or disregard their sensitivities.

As a group founded to unite people of all ages and walks of life through dance and music, this situation has saddened us the most," the group stated, adding, "As six young women who only do the work they love, see the stage as their freest space, and strive to reach high standards with the shows they produce, our greatest dream is to represent our country with achievements on a global scale."

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had announced that an ex officio investigation had been launched into the dance and performances at the Manifest group's concert at Küçükçiftlik Park on charges of "Indecent Behavior" and "Exhibitionism." A travel ban was requested for the members of the Manifest group, against whom the investigation was launched. The members were released by the Criminal Court of Peace with a travel ban and a mandatory sign-in requirement.

Following the decision, a statement came from the Manifest group.

In its statement, Manifest used the following expressions:

"To the Valued Public,

We have given our statements within the scope of the investigation opened regarding our 18+ concert held in Istanbul on September 6, and we are currently free.

While we take full responsibility for the show we performed on stage, we would like it to be known that our intention was never to offend anyone or disregard their sensitivities. As a group founded to unite people of all ages and walks of life through dance and music, this situation has saddened us the most.

As six young women who only do the work they love, see the stage as their freest space, and strive to reach high standards with the shows they produce, our greatest dream is to represent our country with achievements on a global scale.

In this sense, we will continue to work every day.

Due to the sensitivity of the process, we will not have any further statements on the matter.

Thank you for your support.

We hope to see you at our concerts.

We love you,

Manifest"
