First statement from terrorist organization YPG following Öcalan's call: Emphasis on political group
The first statement regarding the call to lay down arms and disband the organization made by Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, has come from Salih Müslim, the leader of the PKK's Syrian branch, the YPG.
Salih Müslim, the leader of the terrorist organization YPG/PYD who is wanted with a red notice, stated in his remarks to Al Arabiya, "We agree with Abdullah Öcalan's statements. If we are allowed to operate as a political group, we will lay down our arms."
Müslim stated that they would 'act according to the decision to be taken by the PKK.'
Siyamend Eli, the press spokesperson for the terrorist organization YPG, said in his assessment to MA, "This call will lead to all peoples in the region, especially the peoples of Turkey, taking part in peace and having a say."
Eli stated, "This message is of great importance to us. This message is a message aimed at stopping this war."
ÖCALAN'S NOTE
Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who is part of the DEM Party's İmralı delegation, shared Öcalan's note following the reading of his call. In the note from PKK terrorist organization leader Öcalan, it was stated, "While presenting this perspective, it undoubtedly requires the laying down of arms and the self-dissolution of the PKK, as well as the recognition of democratic politics and the legal dimension."
