First statement from the DEM Party Imralı Delegation that met with terrorist leader Öcalan!

The traffic of meetings has accelerated in recent days during the second opening process, referred to as a Turkey without terrorism. DEM Party Imralı Delegation members Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, who met with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on October 30, visited terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan yesterday (November 3). Lawyer Faik Özgür Erol was also present at the meeting.

The DEM Party Imralı Delegation released a statement regarding the meeting held with the terrorist leader.

The following statements were included in the announcement:

"On November 3, 2025, we held an extremely positive meeting with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı that lasted approximately three hours. His health and morale were quite strong. In summary, he made the following assessments during our meeting:

Advancing the process we are currently in requires taking history and sociology more seriously. It is important to recognize that Turkish-Kurdish relations have reached the present day as two thousand-year-old pillars. It is necessary to strengthen this unity by recognizing, understanding, and repairing these pillars.

We must act not by drawing lines, but by creating a horizon that also encompasses our current problems.

We are making a serious effort for a historical issue under limited conditions. We are trying to develop a positive phase, not a destructive and negative one. The Kurdish phenomenon must be included in the legality of the Republic in all its dimensions, and a strong transition process must be based on this. Transitioning to legality as a holistic phenomenon will solidify the legal foundations of the Democratic Republic.

The opportunity for democratic integration that we are periodically on the threshold of today is both local and universal. It is of vital importance that everyone acts with sensitivity, seriousness, and a sense of responsibility in this process to be able to move to a positive phase.
