First statement from the Palace regarding the NEW Party: 'CHP has entered a purification process'
Mehmet Uçum, chief advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, argued in his first assessment of the NEW Party, which was formed after splitting from the CHP, that the separation was not ideological but stemmed from personal agendas. Uçum claimed that the new party would not be able to create a lasting impact on Turkish politics.
Özgür Özel's departure from the CHP along with 90 deputies to form the NEW Party continues to hold its place on the agenda.
While the NEW Party has become Turkey's new main opposition party with 91 deputies, the first statement from the Palace regarding the NEW Party has arrived.
Mehmet Uçum, chief advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, argued in his assessment of the NEW Party that the separation was not due to a political or ideological difference, but rather stemmed from personal and group agendas.
Claiming that the NEW Party would not be able to create a lasting impact on Turkish politics, Uçum noted that many parties had emerged from the CHP before and alleged that the NEW Party would not produce a different result than those.
Uçum further asserted that for the CHP, this process meant a "purification" and "cleansing."

"A BRIEF ASSESSMENT ON THE CHP AND THE NEW PARTY!
The separation of the CHP and the New Party on Turkey's agenda is extremely insignificant in terms of the needs of general policy. Because this separation has nothing to do with a difference in worldview. In any case, those interested in the current agenda are treating the subject as political gossip. All discussions focus on the personal or group agendas of those who remain and those who have separated.
As a matter of fact, the subject means nothing more than the emergence of the 13th party from the source party, the CHP.
Just as those who separated in the past, with the exception of the Democratic Party and (due to the Ecevit effect) the DSP, did not create any significance, this New Party cannot produce any meaning either. Because the separation took place entirely over subjective agendas, not over a general policy difference.
It is a cautionary tale that those who defend irregularities and corruption, especially in party congress processes and in the practice of local governments, particularly in Istanbul, are leading this separation.
Had the decision regarding the invalidity of the general assembly not been issued, these individuals who separated would have remained in the CHP. When it was seen that an absurd stance like resisting the law against the invalidity decision would not yield results, resorting to the option of a separate party was chosen.
Where is the difference in political perspective, where is the ideological split? This New Party cannot produce an original policy. Because it has become a party established over personal needs rather than a political stance. Therefore, the subject of the New Party, which is treated as if it were a major event in the country's politics, cannot go beyond a discussion of political gossip regarding individuals.
With this separation, the CHP has essentially entered a cleansing process in accordance with the purification perspective they have set before them. In the end, the CHP is still the CHP. The flood passes, the sand remains.
What I have said is merely an assessment based on observation. If there are those who want to derive other meanings, they are mistaken. They should not even bother."
