Çiftlik Bank CEO Mehmet Aydın has spoken for the first time since entering prison. Aydın sent a letter through his lawyer and shared a photo of his current state. In an interview featured on Odatv, Aydın said that if he were released, he would go to Mars or work in e-commerce.

Aydın stated the following:

"I have been in Edirne F-Type Prison for 29 months. I don't know if I should call a two-story room a house. Upstairs, there is a bed and cabinets for clothes. I have a room that faces east and gets good sunlight.

The lower floor is an American-style kitchen; there is a TV and a round table in the living room, and in the kitchen downstairs, there is only tea and coffee. The food, served in 3 meals, is a thousand times better than in KYK dormitories. It is provided by the institution. There is a total of about 100 square meters of open and closed space available. I spend my day reading books and studying. Of course, there are series and movies in the evenings. I exercise in the mornings.

Compared to the state of the people in the news—those who suffer from hunger, those who cannot afford meat, those whose electricity, water, and natural gas are cut off, those who sleep in the cold, those who sleep hungry, students in dormitories who are poisoned by eating food worse than what we eat, our uncles and aunts who cannot get treatment because they have no money, and retirees whose 3-penny pension goes to medicine co-pays—I am, thank God, doing well.
