First statement regarding the meeting between President Erdoğan and Meral Akşener

The meeting held by former İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener at Beştepe has become a topic on the political agenda.

A statement was made by Akşener's chief of staff, Esma Bekar, regarding the meeting, which caused discomfort within the İYİ Party. 

Bekar stated, “The invitation for the meeting came from the President. Neither a job offer nor a request was brought to the agenda.” İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu said he was not surprised by the meeting.

While Akşener remains silent following calls from İYİ Party Secretary General Uğur Poyraz and Ankara MP Koray Aydın to “disclose the content of the meeting,” notable statements came from her chief of staff, Esma Bekar.

Speaking to TGRT Haber, Bekar said, “The invitation for the meeting came from the President. Neither a job offer nor a request was brought to the agenda.”

WILL AKŞENER MEET WITH BAHÇELİ?

She reported that there is no agenda for Akşener to meet with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

Bringing a striking claim to the agenda, Bekar said, “The İYİ Party is afraid of Meral Akşener and is trying to expel Akşener from the party.”
