Fishing boat sinks in İzmir: 3 dead, 2 missing
A fishing boat has sunk off the coast of the Dikili district in İzmir. In the incident, the bodies of 3 of the 10 people on board were recovered, while search efforts continue for 2 missing individuals. 5 people from the sunken boat were rescued with injuries.
The incident occurred around 02:00 at night. According to the information obtained, the fishing boat named Oğuz İrgit sank off the coast of Salihleraltı.
While the bodies of citizens named Oğuz İrgit, İsmet Akdağ, and Orhan Pancar, who were among the 10 people on the boat, were recovered, Alican Ateş, Arda Kuzu, Mehmet Kurunaz, İbrahim Erdem, and Muhammet Kulak were rescued alive.
It was learned that Medine Karaduman and Gökhan Çakır, who were on the sunken boat, are missing, and search and rescue operations are continuing with 3 boats and 1 helicopter belonging to the Coast Guard Command.
