Flash decision at UKOME! Those buses will no longer be used

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) meeting was held at the Çırpıcı Social Facilities. In addition to the agenda regarding price hikes, a new decision was signed at the meeting.

Within the scope of the Public Transportation Service Quality Evaluation System (TUDES), it was proposed to add the following clause to the "Private Public Bus Service Quality Deduction Evaluation Schedule": "The license of bus operators will be revoked if the vehicle is used, allowed to be used, or rented for political or illegal activities. The right to carry out transportation activities granted with the public transportation vehicle usage certificate will be withdrawn."

At the meeting chaired by IMM Deputy Secretary General Gürkan Akgün, Turkey Drivers and Automobile Federation Representative and Istanbul Chamber of Taxi Drivers (İTEO) President Eyup Aksu stated, "The clause regarding the revocation of bus operators' licenses is too harsh. We do not agree with this. We propose that this be changed."

IMM Deputy Secretary General Gürkan Akgün stated that the transportation license could be revoked if the operator themselves participates in political or illegal activities.

The clause, which was resubmitted after being revised, was accepted by majority vote.
