The accident occurred on Monday, March 11, at approximately 16:00 in the TEM Highway Silivri Kavaklı Neighborhood area.

The car carrying Soner Aci and his son Anıl Aci broke down while traveling in the direction of Ankara. Father Aci and his son Anıl Aci got out of the vehicle after stopping on the emergency lane. At that moment, the truck driven by Sait İ., which was traveling in the same direction, first struck the car and then hit Anıl Aci. Following this accident, Anıl Aci lost his life. The 32-year-old truck driver, Sait İ., who was taken into custody after the accident, was released under judicial control conditions.

EXPERT REPORT FINDS TRUCK DRIVER PRIMARILY AT FAULT

As part of the investigation conducted by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a new expert report was prepared regarding the accident. The report stated that the driver, Sait İ., was primarily at fault for making a dangerous lane change on the highway. The deceased, Anıl Aci, was noted as being partially at fault.

ARRESTED

Following this development, the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took immediate action. An arrest warrant was issued for the driver, Sait İ., who had previously been released under judicial control. Following the decision, the driver, Sait İ., was taken back into custody by the Silivri District Police Department teams and referred to the prosecutor's office. The suspect was then brought before the court and arrested, and sent to prison.

HE HAD DEFENDED HIMSELF BY SAYING "THE WIND BLEW THE VEHICLE"

In his statement, Sait İ. had said, "As a result of the wind slightly blowing the vehicle under my control, my vehicle swerved to the right, that is, toward the emergency lane. Afterward, I noticed a vehicle in the emergency lane and tried to correct my vehicle. However, I grazed and struck the left side of the vehicle in the emergency lane. When I looked back in my mirror, I saw that I had hit someone there. There were no warnings on the road."
