Flights between Tel Aviv and Tehran suspended

Lufthansa has announced changes to its flights to Israel and Iran following the detonation of pagers in Lebanon.

In a statement noting that flights to Tel Aviv and Tehran have been suspended effective immediately until September 19 due to short-term changes in the security situation, it was stated that all airlines under the Lufthansa Group (Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines) will also avoid Israeli and Iranian airspace during this period.

The statement, which reminded that Lufthansa is offering passengers affected by the cancellations the option of free rebooking or cancellation, expressed that the German company continues to monitor the situation closely and will continue to evaluate the situation in the coming days.

PAGERS DETONATED

Simultaneous explosions occurred yesterday in pagers used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 9 people, including 1 child, lost their lives and approximately 2,800 people were injured, about 200 of them critically, as a result of the detonation of pagers used by Hezbollah members across the country.

While Lebanese officials hold Israel responsible for the incident, there has been no statement from Israel regarding the matter yet. It has been observed that tensions have increased in recent days in the clashes that have been ongoing on the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8, 2023.
