Flights diverted to Turkey following closure of Qatari airspace
Due to Iran's missile attack on US bases in Qatar, flights traveling from Europe to the Qatari capital, Doha, have been diverted to Turkey. Ten Qatar Airways aircraft have changed course to land at Istanbul Airport and Esenboğa Airport.
Following Iran's missile attack on US bases in Qatar and Iraq this evening, Qatar announced that it has closed its airspace to commercial flights.
This decision has caused disruptions in air traffic.
Aircraft that had taken off from various European cities bound for the Qatari capital, Doha, were diverted to Istanbul Airport and Esenboğa Airport in Ankara.
It was learned that 5 aircraft diverted while en route to Doha have landed at Istanbul Airport, and this number is expected to increase during the night.
