Following Kent Lokantası, now Halk Lokantası: First branch opened

Osmangazi Municipality has opened Bursa's first Halk Lokantası with a ceremony held at Osmangazi Square

The ceremony was attended by Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın, Gemlik Mayor Şükrü Deviren, CHP Bursa Deputy Hasan Öztürk, CHP Provincial Chair Nihat Yeşiltaş, CHP Osmangazi District Chair Cengiz Çelikten, CHP Nilüfer Council Member Yücel Akbulut, and citizens.

The Halk Lokantası, which will serve every weekday between 11:00 and 15:00, will accommodate 300 people at a time. It will be closed on weekends and public holidays.

With a daily capacity of 1,000 meals, the Halk Lokantası will sell a 4-course meal for 80 liras.

"EXAMPLES ARE INCREASING ACROSS TURKEY"

Stating that the goal is to ensure low-income citizens have access to food, Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın said:

"The situation our country is in is clear, and economic hardships continue to suffocate our citizens, increasing day by day and showing their effects even before the holiday. Because the pension is at a level that makes it difficult not just to survive, but even to breathe, we are launching this service as the Osmangazi Municipality to ease their lives, if only a little. Examples of this are increasing across Turkey. We have started it here as well. We do not aim to compete with local tradesmen here; we are trying to help our low-income citizens access food."
