Foot-and-mouth disease alarm in Şırnak! Emergency measures taken

During routine work carried out by the Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams on May 27 in the village of Çobankazanı, attached to the Güçlükonak district, animals infected with foot-and-mouth disease were detected at a facility. An emergency action plan was created by the teams, and in accordance with the decision taken by the District Health and Sanitation Commission, the entry and exit of cattle and small ruminants in the village where the disease was detected and surrounding villages have been prohibited until further notice.

Officials from the Şırnak Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry reported that disinfection work and health screenings for animals have been initiated in the surveillance zone to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease. Additionally, information and training activities are being conducted for all farmers in the region.

While veterinary teams continue their work in the field without interruption, citizens have been asked to comply with the measures taken and to be cautious regarding animal movements. All measures have been taken to prevent the spread of the disease. It was stated that the process is being followed with sensitivity.
