In the accident that occurred yesterday evening on Rauf Orbay Street in Bakırköy, a truck loaded with paper materials, with license plate 34 ER 260 and driven by Mehmet F., hit the Marmaray overpass and overturned onto a car with license plate 34 TY 3045. Upon notification, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the car, Recep Aytekin (45), as well as Sultan Aytekin (44), Güler Rukiye Aytekin (67), and Merve Aytekin (16), who were trapped in the vehicle, lost their lives.

The truck driver, Mehmet F., who was taken into custody, was referred to the courthouse this morning following his procedures at the police station. In his statement to the police, truck driver Mehmet F. said, "I was heading towards the Ambarlı Port in Avcılar. I had used this road before and passed through without any problems. I saw the mandatory direction sign for vehicles over 4 meters at the intersection, but since my vehicle was 3.80 meters, I did not use the mandatory route. I don't understand how the incident happened."
