Foreign Ministry announces: Ayşenur Ezgi's body to be brought to Turkey tomorrow
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the body of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, will be brought to Turkey tomorrow. The Ministry emphasized that every effort will be made to ensure the incident does not go unpunished. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç also stated regarding the matter, "We will carry out efforts to establish an independent investigation commission and prepare a report."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the procedures regarding the transfer of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, to Turkey have been completed and that her body will be brought to the country tomorrow.
The following statements were included in the announcement made by the Ministry:
"The procedures regarding the transfer of the body of our citizen Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was deliberately targeted and killed by Israeli soldiers during a peaceful demonstration in the occupied West Bank, to Turkey were completed today by our Tel Aviv Embassy and Jerusalem Consulate General. The body of the deceased is expected to arrive in our country tomorrow. We wish God's mercy upon our citizen who lost her life and extend our condolences to her relatives. We once again condemn this murder committed by the genocidal Netanyahu government. We will make every effort to ensure that this crime does not go unpunished."
'WE WILL CARRY OUT EFFORTS TO PREPARE A REPORT'
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç also announced that an investigation has been launched into Eygi's death. Tunç stated, "Our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the death of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi."
Stating that the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions should take immediate action, Minister Tunç said, "We will carry out efforts to establish an independent investigation commission and prepare a report."
Minister Tunç explained that they will take the necessary initiatives for this report to be used in the UN Human Rights Council and in the ongoing genocide case.
