Foreign Ministry's response to Israel on 'mourning': You cannot achieve peace by threatening diplomats

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli reacted to the scandalous statements made by the occupying Israeli minister. 

Keçeli posted on his social media account, "You cannot achieve peace by killing negotiators or threatening diplomats."

Israeli Foreign Minister Katz had made a social media post stating that he had summoned the Turkish chargé d'affaires to the Foreign Ministry to "issue a warning" and that those who wish to mourn should go to Turkey and mourn with President Erdoğan.

 The post by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz is as follows:

“I have instructed the summoning of Turkey’s Deputy Ambassador to Israel for a serious warning conversation due to the lowering of the Turkish flag to half-mast at the Turkish Embassy in Tel Aviv following the killing of Hamas terrorist organization leader Ismail Haniyeh.

The State of Israel will not accept expressions of mourning for a murderer like Ismail Haniyeh, who stood at the head of the Hamas terrorist organization that carried out the rapes and murders on October 7. In the face of these images of brutality, Haniyeh watched them on television screens, prayed with his friends, and wished the murderers success.

If the embassy representatives want to mourn, they should go to Turkey and mourn with their master, Erdoğan, who embraces the terrorist organization Hamas and supports its murders.”
