In Şanlıurfa, a school principal saved a student who had a foreign object stuck in their throat by performing the Heimlich maneuver.

At the Haliliye Necat Kuveyt Türk Kardeşlik Primary School, students noticed that a classmate was unable to breathe after a foreign object became lodged in their windpipe and sought help from their teachers.

School principal Suphi Çetin, who is trained in first aid, performed the Heimlich maneuver on the student. The student, saved from choking, began to breathe easily again.

WHAT IS THE HEIMLICH MANEUVER?

It is a first aid procedure used to intervene when a foreign object enters or obstructs the upper respiratory tract.
