Forensic Medicine report on the Böcek family released: 'Low probability'

The first report from the Council of Forensic Medicine regarding the deaths of the Böcek family, who lost their lives due to poisoning in Istanbul's Fatih district after arriving from Germany, has been published. The report stated, "The Böcek family may have been poisoned by a chemical substance at the hotel. It is less likely that the Böcek family lost their lives due to food poisoning."

THE BÖCEK FAMILY DIED FROM POISONING

Servet and Çiğdem Böcek, who came to Istanbul from Germany for a vacation about a week ago, and their children, 6-year-old Kadir and 3-year-old Masal, lost their lives. Ayoub Hamraoui, Reda Fakhri, and Ayoub Hamraoui, who were staying at the same hotel, fell ill and were taken to the hospital. The incident, which was initially evaluated as food poisoning, took on a different dimension when it was revealed that the hotel had been fumigated.

4 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Following the detention of the owner of the cafe where the Böcek family ate in Ortaköy, a mussel seller, a kokoreç seller, and a Turkish delight seller, as well as hotel staff and pest control company employees, a total of 11 suspects were taken into custody. After their statements to the prosecutor's office, the cafe owner, the mussel seller, the kokoreç seller, and the Turkish delight seller were arrested by the duty magistrate to whom they were referred with a request for arrest.
