Forest fires flare up again at four locations in Bursa
Efforts are underway to bring forest fires under control in four different areas of Bursa's Gürsu district.
The Bursa Metropolitan Municipality has announced that forest fires have intensified again at four separate locations in the Gürsu district. The fire, which began yesterday in the Ağlaşan neighborhood of the Kestel district, spread toward the Gürsu district and continued throughout the night. The fire, which affected the Ağlaşan, Karahıdır, İğdir, and Avdancık neighborhoods, was partially brought under control in the morning hours.
As of 11:45 today, municipal teams and vehicles are continuing their firefighting efforts without interruption. However, flames have regained strength due to the wind at a total of four locations, including the ongoing fires in the Dışkaya area and on the Gürsu TOKİ road.
The statement made by the municipality included the following:
'The forest fire that started yesterday (26.07.2025) at 16:50 in the Ağlaşan neighborhood of our Kestel district, spread within the borders of our Gürsu district, continued throughout the night, and affected our Ağlaşan, Karahıdır, İğdir, and Avdancık neighborhoods, was partially brought under control in the morning hours. As of today (27.07.2025) at 11:45, our teams and vehicles are continuing their work in the region without interruption. Despite this, flames have increased in intensity again at a total of 4 separate points, including the ongoing fires in the Dışkaya area of our Gürsu district and on the Gürsu TOKİ road. We owe a debt of gratitude to all the teams who have been working selflessly since yesterday, and we wish them ease in the ongoing extinguishing and cooling efforts.'
