Former AKP deputy Metin Külünk reacts to hymn performed during Pope's welcome: 'Someone must be held accountable for this'

Külünk reacted harshly to a practice that took place during the Turkey visit of Pope Leo XIV, the spiritual leader of the Catholic world.

Pope Leo XIV had arrived in Turkey and was welcomed by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Cihannüma Hall in the Presidential Nation's Library. It was noted that the orchestra performed the hymn "Tala'al Bedru Aleyna" during the welcome.

Metin Külünk also expressed his reaction to the performance of the hymn, which is known in Islamic history as having been recited during the Prophet Muhammad's migration to Medina and written in his honor, at a ceremony held for the Pope.

In his post, Külünk included the following statements:

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS?

Before Pope Leo began outlining the topics of the struggle that must be waged on three fronts against globalists during the meeting and concert program held at the Presidential Complex's Nation's Library, there was much discussion about the orchestra and choir in the hall performing a special melody like Tala'al Bedru.

Honestly, we are curious about which specific plan this performance is the product of.

What should have been a Turkey visit that was normal in every respect, and an event for which the Turkish state intelligence thought all precautions had been taken, has unfortunately become a conspiracy in itself with the performance of this melody.

The question is: Who put the Tala'al Bedru melody into the choir's repertoire?

Who conducted the repertoire review?

It is clear that an excuse such as 'We showed our Muslim identity to the Pope with this melody' cannot be accepted.

Who tailored the outfits worn by the choir, and who approved them?

Choosing this melody, placing it in the repertoire, and avoiding oversight was done with the direct intent of character assassination and a coup against our President and the precautions of the Turkish state intelligence.

Yes, this is clear.

It is imperative that those who were negligent and those who put it into performance resign immediately.

Such situations can never be ignored.

Look, since the costume scandal used in the 2024 Paris Olympics, all actions and moves of the Turkish state have been attempted to be belittled in the eyes of our society with such symbolic attacks.

If they are not held accountable, if we show pity, we will end up in a pitiful state."
