Former AKP deputy objects to Boeing deal between Trump and Erdoğan over Israel: 'Should not be purchased until the massacre stops'

Former AKP Elazığ deputy Feyzi İşbaşaran has raised objections to the 'large-scale Boeing aircraft purchase' that was brought to the agenda by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and subsequently confirmed by US President Trump's statement, which included: "Among these are a large-scale Boeing aircraft purchase, an important F-16 agreement, and the continuation of F-35 negotiations that we expect to conclude positively."

In a calculation shared on his social media account, İşbaşaran highlighted the massive cost the aircraft purchase would incur, while also noting that it is highly inappropriate to pay such a large sum to Boeing, a company that has drawn attention for its support of Israel.

İşbaşaran shared the following:

"Trump had sold 210 Boeing passenger planes to Qatar for 96 billion dollars.

Bloomberg: 'A protocol for Boeing's sale of 250 aircraft to Turkey is being prepared and will be signed at the White House on September 25 in the presence of Trump and Erdoğan.'

Since Qatar paid 96 billion dollars for 210 planes, this means we will be buying 250 planes for 114 billion dollars.

As CHP Chairman Özgür Özel said, if 300 Boeings are purchased, we will pay 137 billion dollars.

The Boeing aircraft company, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, has been declared by Amnesty International as one of the 15 companies complicit in Israel's genocide.

We are not saying do not buy passenger planes. At least do not buy them while a genocide is taking place in Gaza. If there is a need, you can buy Airbus; the priority should not be Boeing...

Boeing has models ranging from 200 million dollars to 440 million dollars.

The planes Trump sold to the Emir of Qatar were top-tier models.

We do not yet know which model Turkey will buy or how many. Turkish Airlines has 500 planes, and we are in no rush.

In principle, because the Boeing aircraft company, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, is also among the 15 companies identified by Amnesty International as being complicit in Israel's genocide, this aircraft purchase should not be made until the massacre in Gaza is stopped!"
