Former bodyguard of Azerbaijani President Aliyev found dead in hotel room in Kuşadası
Mahir Mammadov (50), who once served as a close protection officer for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, was found dead in his hotel room in the Kuşadası district of Aydın. The exact cause of Mammadov's death will be determined following an autopsy.
The incident occurred at around 1:30 PM at a 5-star hotel located in the Kadınlar Denizi neighborhood. According to the information obtained, 50-year-old Azerbaijani citizen Mahir Mammadov had arrived in Kuşadası for a vacation 3 days ago with his wife, Kemale Mammadov, and their son.
Mammadov and his family went up to their room to rest after having breakfast this morning. After a while, his wife Kemale Mammadov and their son went to the city center for a walk, and upon their return, they found Mahir Mammadov lying motionless on the floor.

Upon notification, 112 Emergency Health and police teams were dispatched to the hotel. Checks performed by the medical team confirmed that Mahir Mammadov had passed away.

The exact cause of death for Mahir Mammadov, who also served as a close protection officer for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for a period, will be determined after an autopsy to be performed at the İzmir Forensic Medicine Morgue.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
