Selahattin Tonguç, one of the prominent figures of the Republican People's Party (CHP) in Antalya, has passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment. Tonguç, who served as mayor in Antalya between 1973 and 1980, had been struggling with health issues for some time.
ADMITTED TO INTENSIVE CARE AFTER SURGERY
Tonguç, who was hospitalized on July 28, was moved to the intensive care unit following a surgery. The former mayor, who fought for his life for eight days, could not be saved despite all efforts by doctors on the evening of August 5.
