Former CHP Chairman intubated

Altan Öymen, one of the former chairmen of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and a veteran figure of the Turkish press, has been hospitalized in Istanbul due to health issues. The 93-year-old Öymen contracted a viral infection following a lung surgery he underwent in recent weeks. Following this development, he was admitted for treatment at the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Şişli.

INTUBATED

It was stated that Altan Öymen, who underwent a successful lung operation six weeks ago, had returned to his normal life after being discharged from the hospital but fell ill about a week ago. Examinations revealed a virus-induced infection. As Öymen's condition worsened, he was moved to intensive care and intubated to provide respiratory support.
