Former CHP mayor in prison hospitalized
Turgay Erdem, the former CHP mayor of Nilüfer who is currently imprisoned in Bursa, has been transferred to a hospital after falling ill in prison.
Turgay Erdem, the former CHP mayor of Nilüfer, has been admitted to the intensive care unit at Bursa City Hospital due to an illness he suffered in prison. Erdem, who is being held in custody as part of an investigation conducted by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, remains in serious condition.
Erdem's lawyer, Deniz Baykal, stated that his client is receiving treatment at the hospital for a heart condition. In a statement to the Sözcü newspaper, Baykal indicated that Erdem's health status is being closely monitored.
