Former CHP member Gürsel Tekin is founding a party: 'We are not chasing popularity'
Gürsel Tekin, who served in numerous roles within the CHP for many years and resigned from his party in 2024, is founding a new party. Speaking to 12punto about the new formation, which will be named the "Undecideds Party" (Kararsızlar Partisi), Tekin stated, "We are not chasing popularity. We will walk together with everyone, from teachers to students, from the young to the old, who are collectively disturbed by the current situation."

Gürsel Tekin, who served for many years as a deputy chairman, secretary general, and member of parliament in the CHP and resigned from his party in February 2024, is founding a new party. Tekin and his team are preparing for May 2025 to share the details of the new formation, which will be named the "Undecideds Party," with the public.
Speaking to 12punto, Tekin said, "Deep poverty, urban transformation, missing children, drug addiction... The country has too many issues that need to be resolved. In this direction, we saw that there is a need for a new political movement in Turkey."
In response to the question, "Will there be surprise names in your staff that will shock Turkey and especially the political scene?" Tekin replied, "We are not chasing popularity. We will walk together with everyone, from teachers to students, from the young to the old, who are collectively disturbed by the current situation."
'WE ARE NOT CHASING POPULARITY'
Tekin stated the following:
"We have been taking the tomography of Turkey for a long time. We have had contact with people in almost every field. There are up to 40 percent undecided voters in the country. There are many members who have resigned from their political parties. Deep poverty, urban transformation, missing children, drug addiction... The country has too many issues that need to be resolved. In this direction, we saw that there is a need for a new political movement in Turkey.

Stating that he has no issue with his former party, the CHP, Tekin said, "We will also announce the founding staff of our new party in the coming days."
