Former MHP mayor arrested for extortion released
Former Yahşihan Mayor Osman Türkyılmaz and the former zoning director, who were arrested as part of an "extortion" investigation conducted by the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, have been released under judicial control.
The hearing held at the Kırıkkale 2nd High Criminal Court was attended by the detained defendants Osman Türkyılmaz and former zoning director M.T., as well as non-detained defendants and lawyers for the parties. During the hearing, the defendants' defenses were heard following witness testimonies.
While the former zoning director M.T. claimed that some apartments were given away free of charge, Osman Türkyılmaz denied these allegations and argued that he had not given any such instructions.
Türkyılmaz stated that he had been in detention for approximately 7 months and requested his release. The other defendants also reiterated their previous defenses and requested acquittal.

Following the prosecutor's opinion, the court panel decided to release the detained defendants Osman Türkyılmaz and M.T. on the condition of judicial control and a travel ban. The panel adjourned the hearing to a later date to allow for the completion of missing items in the case file.
The judicial process for the case filed against the defendants for "extortion by coercion" and complicity in the crime, as part of the investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, is ongoing.
