Former police chief Sabri Uzun has been detained.

In a statement issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the reason cited was a post Uzun made on his social media account targeting AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The statement noted that Uzun was detained in Ankara.

"SUCH A NATION DESERVES THE RULE OF A SULTAN"

In a post he made yesterday on his social media account regarding Israel, Uzun had used the following expressions: "The father sent fuel and steel to Israel; he was applauded. The son protested Israel; he was applauded. Such a nation deserves not democracy, but the rule of a Sultan. An uneducated society ends up like this."
