Former SADAT partner Mehmet Naci Efe, who said 'We sell weapons,' becomes rector advisor
It has emerged that Mehmet Naci Efe, a former partner of SADAT, was recently appointed as a rector advisor at Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBÜ). Efe had previously made headlines with his statement, "We sell weapons," before resigning from SADAT.
Mehmet Naci Efe, the second-largest partner of SADAT—which Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has accused of being a paramilitary organization—made headlines in May 2022 with an interview he gave to a newspaper, in which he claimed that weapons produced by ASELSAN and MKE were being sold abroad with authorization.
According to a report by Sözcü, it has emerged that Mehmet Naci Efe, who is close to prominent figures in the AKP government, began working as an advisor to Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu, who was elected as an AKP deputy from Manisa immediately after the May 14 elections and was later appointed as the AKP Group Deputy Chairman.
Among the information obtained is that Mehmet Naci Efe had business cards printed featuring the office and telephone numbers of AKP Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).
VISIT WITH AKP OFFICIALS
On the other hand, it was noted that Efe, who began his role as an advisor, visited the newly appointed Governor of Manisa, Enver Ünlü, on August 25, alongside AKP Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu, AKP Manisa Provincial Chairman Salih Hızlı, AKP Yunusemre Mayor Mehmet Çerçi, and accompanying AKP officials.
