Former Ülkü Ocakları president sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in prison
Çağrı Ünel, who once served as the Mersin Ülkü Ocakları president, has been sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in prison for a murder he committed.
The trial process regarding the murder committed by Çağrı Ünel, who once served as the Mersin Ülkü Ocakları president, has reached its conclusion.
Ünel testified as a witness to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in April 2023 as part of the Sinan Ateş murder investigation.
Çağrı Ünel, a former Ülkü Ocakları president and a figure close to the late Sinan Ateş, was arrested on March 17, 2022, for killing Emrullah Kaplan, who was serving as a bodyguard for Kadirli Ülkü Ocakları President Hüseyin Coşkun Akgüllü, during an incident two years ago in which 11 people attacked him.
Ünel had testified as a witness to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in April 2023 as part of the Sinan Ateş murder investigation.
