Fraud warning from RTÜK
The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has issued a warning to be vigilant against fraud attempts made using the name of the RTÜK President.
In a post shared on RTÜK's social media account, it was stated: "Important Warning to Radio and Television Broadcasters: It is necessary to be vigilant against fraud attempts made using the names of RTÜK and the RTÜK President. It has been determined that in recent days, some radio and television broadcasting organizations have been called by phone using the name of RTÜK President Mr. Ebubekir Şahin, and financial demands have been made under the guise of 'aid,' 'donations,' or various other pretexts.
These calls, made by individuals introducing themselves as the President of the Radio and Television Supreme Council, a member of the Supreme Council, or RTÜK personnel, should never be given any credence.
All such requests are attempts at fraud. Our institution has filed the necessary criminal complaints regarding the person or persons making these fake calls, judicial processes have been initiated, and the process is being followed meticulously. Therefore, it is kindly requested that our radio and television broadcasters inform RTÜK and the relevant law enforcement units without delay if they encounter such suspicious calls."
