Frightening fire in Aydın: 50 decares of land burned!
Sparks from welding work on the roof of a house in the Efeler district of Aydın ignited an olive grove in a mountainous area. While the fire was extinguished through aerial and ground intervention, 2 people were detained in connection with the incident, and olive trees across a 50-decare area were damaged.
A frightening fire occurred in the Efeler district of Aydın. The fire started in the rural Doğanköy Neighborhood of the Efeler district. According to the information obtained, sparks from welding work during roof construction on a house in the mountainous region ignited the olive grove area.
Citizens who noticed the smoke reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, gendarmerie, fire department, and forestry teams were dispatched to the region. The fire, which broke out on sloping terrain, was intervened with 2 planes, 1 water helicopter, 1 powder helicopter, and 5 fire trucks. After intense efforts, the fire was brought under control, and the teams began cooling operations.
As a result of the investigation initiated by the Efeler District Gendarmerie Command teams, it was determined that the fire broke out while 2 suspects, identified as D.A. and Y.A.Ö., were welding. According to initial assessments, dry grass, brush, and approximately 1,000 olive trees on about 50 decares of land were damaged in the fire. The 2 suspects identified as causing the fire were detained, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
