A fugitive wanted for membership in the PKK terrorist organization has been sentenced to prison in Sweden, where he had fled, for the sexual abuse of horses.
According to the Swedish press, Senanik Öner, who also held a role in the PKK's structure in that country, was caught by bystanders while sexually abusing horses in a stable near the city of Helsingborg. He was arrested after attacking police officers with a knife when they arrived at the scene following a report.
The Helsingborg District Court sentenced Öner to 1 year and 4 months in prison for the sexual abuse of horses and the knife attack on police, while rejecting the request for his deportation.
REVEALED BY SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE
The indictment prepared by the Helsingborg Prosecutor's Office stated that Öner's sexual abuse of the horses was discovered on February 24 after the stable owner noticed a suspicious person on security cameras. The indictment noted that when the security camera footage from the stable was reviewed, it was understood that Öner had sexually abused a horse he had tied up, and that he had fled when the owner of the horses arrived at the stable.
The indictment recorded that Öner, who wanted to enter the stable again the next day, fled once more when he was spotted by a female employee, but persisted and returned to the stable on February 28, where he was caught in the act by police teams after being reported by those in the vicinity.
ATTACKED POLICE WITH A KNIFE
Öner, who attacked the police with a knife when they ordered him to surrender, was neutralized and taken into custody after a brief struggle.
It had also been requested that Öner, who was arrested and charged by the prosecutor's office with the sexual abuse of a horse and a knife attack on police, be deported from Sweden—where he had applied for asylum—on the condition that he be barred from re-entering the country for 10 years.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Senanik Öner, who is wanted by Turkey for membership in the PKK terrorist organization, fled abroad during the confirmation phase of a sentence he received in a trial where he was prosecuted for being an organization executive, having previously been taken into custody while serving as a deputy mayor for the BDP in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin.
