Furkan Bölükbaşı's 'execution' message to President Erdoğan referencing Menderes: 'The current government of Muslims'

AKP-affiliated troll Furkan Bölükbaşı, known for his posts hostile to the Republic and secularism, has effectively threatened AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan with 'execution' in a post by citing the example of Adnan Menderes.

Bölükbaşı deleted the threatening post shortly after and made a new one.

'EXECUTION' WARNING TO ERDOĞAN

Quoting and responding to a post by a social media user with the handle 'omerdumgiriz', Furkan Bölükbaşı effectively threatened AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with 'execution' in his post, using the example of Adnan Menderes.

HE MADE A 'MENDERES'S END' COMPARISON

Responding to a post by a social media user named Ömer Faruk, which stated, "I followed the official ceremony for the anniversary of M. Kemal's death on November 10, 2025, a bit. My conviction has strengthened that a very solid defeat will be tasted by Tayyip Erdoğan and the Justice and Development Party due to divine wisdom...", Bölükbaşı used the following expressions:

"Menderes's end was brought about by the overtures he made to Kemalism. I hope the current government of Muslims will also pull itself together before suffering the same fate."

FURKAN BÖLÜKBAŞI DELETED HIS POST SHORTLY AFTER

Bölükbaşı, who deleted the threatening post shortly after, began making posts declaring his loyalty to Erdoğan. This situation was interpreted by social media users as, "Furkan Bölükbaşı made a new post out of fear."

In his new post, Bölükbaşı shared a photo of Erdoğan praying and stated, "Even though we sometimes have criticisms from our own perspective, when any possibility of danger to our President arises, we stand by him with our blood and soul, and if necessary, we sacrifice ourselves to protect him. We are his loyal and brave Muslim brothers."

HE MADE A JULY 15 POST

He then pinned a post to his profile in which he quoted a post he had made on July 15, 2016. In that post, it was noted that he said, "I am at the same point today as I was on July 15. Just as I stood against bullets until the morning that night to protect our President, I would do the same today. I have not moved an inch in the last 25 years and I will not move."

ALTAYLI WAS ARRESTED OVER 'POLL COMMENTARY'

Journalist Fatih Altaylı was arrested on the grounds that he made 'threatening' remarks targeting Erdoğan, by clipping statements from a video published on his own YouTube channel on June 20, 2025.

Before Altaylı was arrested, Chief Advisor to the President Oktay Saral had shared the clipped part of Altaylı's video on his X account with the phrase, "Your water is heating up."

In the broadcast in question, Fatih Altaylı was commenting on a poll indicating that 70 percent of the public in Turkey said "No" to Erdoğan remaining in office for life.

In the clipped broadcast shared by Oktay Saral, Fatih Altaylı's statements included: "This rate is a rate I expected. Right now, except for a significant portion of AKP voters and a portion of MHP voters, no one would approve of such a thing. Look at the history of this nation, I am not talking about its recent past, look at its distant past. This nation is a nation that has strangled its sultans, when it did not like it, when it did not want it. It is not a small number, the Ottoman sultans who were killed, assassinated, or strangled or made to look like they committed suicide."

In the unclipped version of the same video, it is seen that Altaylı begins his words by saying, "The Turkish people love the ballot box. They want the power to be in their own hands. They like to hold the possibility of changing their father if they put him there." And then he moves on to the section about Ottoman history.

TANJU ÖZCAN: NO ONE IS SAYING 'YOUR WATER IS HEATING UP'

CHP Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, in his statement regarding Furkan Bölükbaşı's post, stated that Bölükbaşı had "become a national security issue" and tagged Oktay Saral, who had posted "Your water is heating up" for Fatih Altaylı.

Özcan's post is as follows:

"This guy has started to become a national security issue. He is playing with the nerve endings of the Turkish nation. But even though this bigot openly threatens the President, there is no one saying 'your water is heating up'! (@oktay_saral) Do not play with the patience of the Turkish nation. Do not protect such flawed men!"
