Gabar Mountain declared a temporary special security zone for 15 days

The Şırnak Governor's Office has announced that the Gabar Mountain region, located within the borders of the Güçlükonak district, has been declared a 'temporary special security zone' for a period of 15 days.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated: "In order to ensure national security, protect public order and safety, prevent the commission of crimes, protect fundamental rights and freedoms as well as the rights and freedoms of others and general public order, prevent the occurrence of violent incidents, and forestall any potential negative situations, pursuant to Article 11 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 32/A of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565; the Gabar Mountain region, located within the borders of the Güçlükonak district of Şırnak, has been declared a 'Temporary Special Security Zone' for a period of 15 days between December 27, 2023, and January 10, 2024, to ensure that citizens who may travel to the aforementioned regions are not harmed by illegal elements in said regions or by the measures to be taken against them. Entry by our citizens into the aforementioned regions is prohibited for the sake of their life and property safety."
