METHOD USED IN NARIN GÜRAN MURDER COMES TO MIND

While the investigation was ongoing, a team consisting of personnel from the Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) under the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Public Order Branch, as well as the Gendarmerie Crime Scene Investigation, Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, and Public Order Branch Directorates, was formed in 2021 to solve the murder.

PHONES OF SON, BROTHER, AND NEPHEW GAVE SIGNALS AT THE LOCATION WHERE THE BODY WAS FOUND

The report included the following findings:

"It was determined that before Arif M.'s phone was turned off at 12:13 on March 8, 2013, its last base station was his own residence or its vicinity; that B.M. (son) was in the vicinity of his own residence and that of M.M. (brother) at 13:21 on the same day; that M.M. was at his own residence during this time; and that their base station signals were consistent until 17:00, indicating they were together. It was determined that on March 10, 2013, between 07:22 and 07:52, the phones of B.M. and M.M., as well as the mobile phone used by M.E.M. (nephew), gave signals together at the location where the body was found and its vicinity. It is assessed that the mobile phone used by F.Z. gave a signal near the area where the body was found."

3 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Following this finding, in an operation carried out by Gendarmerie teams on December 3, 2024, Arif M.'s son B.M. (31), brother M.M. (55), and nephew M.E.M. (43), as well as F.Z. (46) and H.M. (66), were detained.

The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their processing at the Gendarmerie.

Suspects F.Z. and H.M. were released after their questioning at the prosecutor's office.

Suspects B.M., M.M., and M.E.M. were arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace for "intentional homicide."
