20 billion inheritance dispute: Allegations of 100 properties involving Rezan Epözdemir!

The inheritance dispute that began following the death of prominent businessman Ömer Saçaklıoğlu in 2020 is on Turkey's agenda with new allegations. According to statements from the family and lawyers, 100 properties in Göktürk, which constitute a significant portion of the inheritance with a total value exceeding 20 billion lira, were subject to a noteworthy sales transaction after his death.

COMPANY ESTABLISHED BEFORE THE SALE

According to the Sabah newspaper, the 100 properties in question were sold on October 12, 2022, to a company named Kurtaran Gayrimenkul, which had been established only 1.5 months prior. It was noted that the company's capital was only 100 thousand TL, while the sale price was set at 243 million 508 thousand TL.

It is alleged that Hülya Kurtaran, who appears as the owner of the company, does not have the purchasing power for a transaction of this magnitude. According to the claim, Kurtaran is an individual living in a modest neighborhood of Istanbul who does not lead a luxurious lifestyle.

WELL BELOW MARKET VALUE

Lawyers for Emine Saçaklıoğlu argue that as of 2022, the market value of these properties was between 1.5 and 2 billion TL, meaning the sale was conducted at approximately one-tenth of its actual value. It is stated that this situation strengthens the claim that a massive illicit gain was created.

REZAN EPÖZDEMİR'S NAME ON THE AGENDA

According to the information in the report, Rezan Epözdemir acted as the lawyer for Kurtaran Gayrimenkul. Mehmet Saçaklıoğlu, the son of Ömer Saçaklıoğlu's wife and heir Emine Saçaklıoğlu, reacted by saying, "Rezan and his team seized all of my mother's inheritance. They usurped my mother's multi-billion lira inheritance."

PROSECUTOR'S INVESTIGATION AND DETENTION

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Rezan Epözdemir was taken into custody on August 10 on charges of "bribery," "political-military espionage," and "aiding FETÖ."
