25-kilometer-long truck queue at Hamzabeyli Border Gate
Trucks waiting to cross into Europe from the Hamzabeyli Border Gate have formed a 25-kilometer-long queue. Due to the increase in Turkey's exports and Bulgaria's difficulty in managing the volume, truck drivers are forced to wait for hours.
Due to the increase in Turkey's exports and Bulgaria's inability to respond to the density, congestion has occurred at the border gate opening to Europe.
Hundreds of truck drivers are continuing to wait in their vehicles at the Hamzabeyli Border Gate to cross into Europe.
Truck driver Halil Doğu said he was transporting cleaning supplies from Hatay to Romania.
Stating that the truck queue is growing, Doğu expressed that he has been waiting in line for 26 hours.
Explaining that waiting in line is difficult, Doğu said, "The hardest part of waiting in line is the lack of sleep. We have trouble meeting our basic needs. We also cannot sleep for fear that migrants might enter the truck."
Erdi Baysal stated that he joined the queue last night and that waiting in line is exhausting.
Expressing that they sometimes have trouble meeting their needs, Baysal said, "Driving is a difficult job. We stand in line for long hours.
I think the problem stems from the other side," he said.
Osman Güner, who is heading to Hungary, also stated that he has been waiting in the queue for 20 hours.
